New work opportunity. submitted on 14:41 EST by wf94ever
| We have been asked by the Pocahontas District to tender for some Maintainence of Ways contracts.Obviously we need this type of work to keep our heads above the water, or whatever. In order for us to be able to complete these contracts, if they happen to come our way, we have leased 3 additional pieces of kit, a tanker,a track bed graveler and a Jordan Spreader. These can be found in the MOW part of the roster. If by chance you are already an engineer with BisonRail you will probably already have these.
I will keep you posted as to how the negotiations are progressing.

Haulin' coal. submitted on 05:49 EST by wf94ever
| Today I have started adding new activities for the Pocahontas route. At the moment I am not sure how many activities will be involved, there could be a dozen or more. These were first written for the BisonRail VR and all I have done is change the rolling stock. Some things such as file names cannot be amended, so if you come across something that starts BRS -****, please ignore it.
For those of you who prefer to see on a map exactly where you are going, I have used Craig Kawahara's. This is a map of some 80 or so pages, but the ones you will need for this series are :14, 14A, 14B, 14C, 14D, 15, 16 and 17.
Please enjoy.

2012 NEW HIRE SIGN ON BONUS submitted on 11:47 EST by cbff33
| Starting January 1, 2012 and running until further notice, the VPARR is implementing a V$1000 hiring bonus for all new hires. There are restrictions, and they are as follows. You must meet the requirements as set forth on the application page. The bonus will be paid to your VPARR payroll. The first 500 dollars will be paid at the 90 day mark of employment. You must have a green call board status, and cannot have taken any leave during the 1st 90 days. The second $500 will be paid at the 180 day mark, and again, you must have a green callboard status, and not have taken any leave of absence in the first 180 days of employment.
Just a reminder. VPARR runs both freeware, and payware routes. VPARR runs both default stock, freeware stock, and payware stock. Ownership of all payware items ARE NOT mandatory. Just the more you have, the more you can run. Knowledge of working with your MSTS files, installing routes, and rolling stock, is required. For the less experienced user, a great start is the VNERR.
So come and join, and become a member of this great virtual railroad. |

Business trains make inspections... submitted on 18:41 EST by Cats Clawson
| | Starting in June, the P&A executives have been traveling on the P&A Business trains making inspections on all of our Divisions. So far all has been found to be in exceptional shape. A few track issues have been found on the Mactier Sub but nothing of major concern. The P&A has had a few new engineers join our ranks and with the new Rocky Mountain Division we hope for more. I was also reported that a "special" train was being planned for the upcoming holiday. |
